Understanding the cover

Does this insure the tenant’s stock?

Not automatically. A property owner’s policy usually addresses the insured building and agreed landlord risks. Tenants should check their own business insurance.

What happens between tenants?

Notify vacancy promptly. Unoccupancy can change cover and bring inspection, security or service conditions.

Practical details

Can mixed-use premises be considered?

Describe the commercial and residential parts, their access and occupation. The full use must be disclosed.

Does loss of rent cover unpaid rent?

Loss of rent following insured damage is different from a tenant not paying. Ask separately about any rent guarantee arrangement.
