CROSSROADS INSURANCE SERVICES

FAQs

A clearer starting point.

These answers explain how to work with Crossroads. For questions about a particular insurance product, visit its dedicated page and check the wording for your own policy.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Getting started

Select Get a quote and choose a quick callback or share your quote details. You can also telephone the team. We will review your enquiry and obtain any further information needed. Submitting the form does not start cover.

That depends on the product. Vehicle details, drivers, property construction, business activities, values and claims history are examples. The product pages provide a useful starting checklist.

No. You can request a quick callback or provide more details for our team to review. The form does not calculate a premium, guarantee a quotation or put insurance in place.

No. The website form sends your contact details and initial requirements to us. Cover must be arranged and its start date confirmed. Do not drive or otherwise rely on a policy being in force simply because you have submitted the form.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Understanding your cover

Ask about the arrangements available for your quotation. We will explain the costs and terms; finance is subject to eligibility.

Read your quotation, schedule, policy wording and any endorsements together. Optional products may have separate documents. Ask us about terms you do not understand before deciding whether to proceed.

No. Comprehensive policies still have limits, excesses, conditions and exclusions. Benefits such as windscreen cover, vehicle hire or breakdown assistance vary. Check the particular quotation and policy rather than relying only on the cover-level name.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Existing policies

Contact us before the change takes effect. The insurer may need further information, and acceptance, premiums or fees can change.

Follow the claims instructions in your policy documents. Our Claims page explains how to find the appropriate contact.

Contact us and confirm your request in writing. Your policy terms and our Terms of Business explain applicable cancellation charges and refund arrangements.

Tell us as soon as you become aware of a change. The quotation may need to be updated and the insurer may require further information. Check that the final documents accurately reflect your circumstances.

Contact us with your name and policy reference if available. We may need to verify your identity before providing documents or discussing the policy. For urgent claims, check any insurer or assistance contact details you already hold.

Quotes and working with a broker

Crossroads is an independent insurance broker. We obtain the details of your requirements and explore options through the insurance markets available to us. The insurer named in your documents provides the insurance.

No. We work with the insurance markets available to us, and not every insurer will accept every risk. We explain the quotation offered and who provides the cover.

The information needed depends on the insurance. Vehicle use, drivers, business activities, property details, sums insured and previous claims can affect the terms offered. Give complete and accurate answers so the quotation reflects your circumstances.

This depends on the product, the information available and whether an insurer needs to review the details. Tell us when cover is needed and we can explain the next steps. The website enquiry does not provide an instant price.

Payments and optional extras

We will explain the quoted premium, applicable fees and any available payment arrangements before you decide. Read the quotation and our Terms of Business for the relevant charges.

Not necessarily. Instalments may spread the cost of an annual policy through a finance agreement. A short-term policy covers a defined period instead. Ask us to confirm the policy duration, payment terms and total cost.

Do not assume they are. Some benefits may be included, offered as optional products or unavailable for a particular risk. Check the quotation and any separate product wording, including limits, excesses and eligibility.

An excess is the amount you are required to contribute towards a covered claim under the policy terms. Different excesses can apply to different types of claim. Check your schedule and wording.

No. Where available, protection applies to the no-claims discount under the insurer’s rules. The overall premium can still change, and claims must still be disclosed when required.

Payment requirements are explained in your quotation and our Terms of Business. Ask us to confirm the amount and due date before cover is due to start. Any instalment arrangement is subject to its own terms.

Our Terms of Business set out the relevant charges, with separate consumer and commercial fees. The amount applicable to your quotation will be disclosed before you commit. Cancellation refunds also depend on your insurer’s terms, time on cover and claims position.

Yes. Where documents are issued electronically or through an internet portal, our Terms of Business state that paper documents are available free of charge on request.

Choosing the right type of insurance

Yes. Tell us which platform or operator you work with, your licensing authority, vehicle and driver details. Acceptance and the permitted use depend on the insurer and policy. Visit our Taxi & Private Hire page to start your enquiry.

Do not assume your existing cover permits this. Tell us exactly what you will carry and how you will be paid before starting that work. We can explain the information needed to check the appropriate insurance.

Carrying your own tools or goods for your business is different from delivering other people’s goods for payment. Explain the vehicle’s actual use. Cover for the goods themselves may also need to be arranged separately.

Tell us the number of vehicles, their use, ownership and who needs to drive. Fleet or other arrangements may be available, depending on the risk. An “any driver” option can still have age, licence and other restrictions.

Prepare a description of all activities, premises, staff, turnover where relevant, equipment, stock, required limits and claims history. We will explain any further information needed for the type of business.

Explain how the property is used, who occupies it, its construction, any letting arrangements or unoccupied periods, and the sums insured required. Tell us about changes before they happen where possible.

Contact and language support

Yes. We can help in English and Turkish. Half of our staff speak Turkish and can help with quotations, policy enquiries and claims. You can speak to us by phone or visit our office at 133 Tottenham Lane, Crouch End, North London, N8 9BJ. Let us know your preferred language when you contact us.

Let us know if you would like someone to help or speak on your behalf. We may need your authority and identity checks before sharing policy information.

For an urgent claim or assistance, use the relevant contact in your policy or assistance documents. Our website enquiry form and email inbox are not an emergency reporting service.
