INSURANCE AROUND YOUR BUSINESS
Personal journeys.
Paid deliveries.
Different uses.
The policy needs to allow the work you actually do. Ordinary personal car insurance should not be assumed to cover paid delivery journeys.
Parcel deliveries
Contract deliveries
Part-time work
Personal driving
Tell us about all delivery companies, platforms and other vehicle use. Food and parcel deliveries may need different insurer checks.
We do not promise acceptance by a platform or availability of hourly or app-based top-up cover.

WHY CROSSROADS
More than four decades.
Still personal.
Insurance starts with understanding what matters to you. We begin with a conversation.
01 / THE CROSSROADS APPROACH
Independent markets. Personal attention.
We explore the options available through our insurance markets, based on your vehicles, circumstances and the cover you need.
02 / THE CROSSROADS APPROACH
People you can speak to.
Tell us what you need and ask the questions that matter to you. Our team will talk you through the available options.
03 / THE CROSSROADS APPROACH
Know where you stand.
We explain the cover, excesses and relevant terms before you decide. You can ask us about the details at every stage.
01 / YOUR LEVEL OF COVER

Check policy terms
Windscreen benefits, excesses and repair arrangements vary by insurer.
This is a general comparison, not a policy summary. Availability and benefits depend on the insurer. The policy wording and certificate set out the actual cover and permitted use.
Not sure which level to choose?
We’ll explain the available cover and excesses before you decide.
02 / HOW YOU DELIVER
An evening shift.
A regular round.
Tell us your work.
Start with your delivery pattern. We’ll discuss the cover available rather than assume one policy fits every type of work.
EXPLORE HOW YOU DELIVER
01
PARCELS
Delivering packages by car
Tell us about the delivery company, goods, routes and mileage. Car courier risks are not accepted by every insurer that covers courier vans.
02
FOOD
Takeaway and food deliveries
Let us know all apps and businesses you deliver for. We need to check food delivery acceptance and the relationship with your personal driving cover.
03
HOURS
Working around another job
Even occasional paid deliveries need suitable cover. Tell us when you work and any other occupation or commuting use; do not assume occasional use is included.
04
PERSONAL
Cover between delivery shifts
Check how personal driving, commuting and delivery work are insured. If separate policies are proposed, both insurers must accept the arrangement.
These examples help us understand your needs. Available cover, terms and acceptance depend on the insurer.
03 / OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Extra protection.
A clearer picture.
Explore optional benefits and related policies. Some may already be included; others need separate cover. We’ll explain what is available for your circumstances.
01 / 06
Motor Legal Cover
Help with eligible legal costs when pursuing uninsured losses following a non-fault accident. Conditions apply to the prospects of success and authorisation of costs.
What we’ll help you check
- Which losses can be pursued?
- What must happen before costs are authorised?
- How is a claim reported?
02 / 06
Motor Breakdown
Explore roadside assistance and recovery for the vehicle use you declare. Home assistance, onward travel and vehicle restrictions depend on the product.
What we’ll help you check
- Does it accept this vehicle and its use?
- What weight, size or age limits apply?
- Which recovery and home services are included?
03 / 06
Goods in Transit
Ask about protection for goods carried in connection with your work. The load, ownership, value and conditions of carriage affect the cover needed.
What we’ll help you check
- Are my particular goods accepted?
- What limits apply to each load?
- What theft and unattended-vehicle conditions apply?
04 / 06
Motor Excess Protection
Ask about reimbursement of an eligible motor policy excess following a settled claim, subject to the protection limit and the product’s terms.
What we’ll help you check
- Which excess payments are eligible?
- What limits and exclusions apply?
- Which settlement documents are needed?
05 / 06
Public Liability
Discuss separate cover for liability arising from your business activities. It does not replace the motor insurance needed for use of the vehicle.
What we’ll help you check
- Which business activities are insured?
- How does it fit with the motor policy?
- What limits does my contract require?
06 / 06
Key Protection
Ask about help with eligible lost, stolen or damaged keys and locks. Check whether protection is already included before adding a separate product.
What we’ll help you check
- Which keys are covered?
- What claim limits and excesses apply?
- How is a replacement arranged?
Choose an option to explore. Availability, limits and exclusions vary. Related policies may be arranged separately; we’ll provide the relevant terms before you decide.

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY
Your questions
answered.
Answers to common questions about courier car insurance, drivers and arranging cover.
Understanding the cover
Do I need different insurance to deliver in my car?
Your motor insurance must permit the delivery work you do. Ordinary social, domestic and pleasure cover or commuting cover should not be assumed to include carrying goods for payment.
Is courier insurance the same as private hire insurance?
No. Delivering goods and carrying paying passengers are different uses. If you do both, tell us so we can check whether a suitable arrangement is available.
What if I also deliver food?
Food delivery has a separate enquiry route. Tell us about both activities before arranging cover; do not assume a parcel delivery policy covers food delivery. Visit our Food Delivery Car Insurance page for that enquiry.
Can I keep my existing personal car policy?
Tell us about it before arranging delivery cover. Separate delivery cover may not be acceptable to your existing insurer, and overlapping policies can leave gaps or create problems.
Vehicles, drivers and use
Can you arrange hourly top-up insurance?
Contact us to check current availability. Do not assume that we can arrange every direct-to-customer or app-based product offered by an insurer.
Does part-time delivery work need cover?
Yes, the policy must permit paid delivery work even if you only do it occasionally. Tell us about your hours, mileage and other driving.
Are delivery platform names a sign of approval?
No. Mentioning a platform does not mean a partnership or endorsement. You should check its document requirements as well as the insurer’s acceptance of your work.
Does the cover protect the goods I carry?
Not automatically. Ask about goods-in-transit insurance and any limits or exclusions relevant to food, parcels and the value of your loads.
Getting a quote
How do I request a quote?
Choose a quick callback or share your quote details using the enquiry form. You can also call 020 8374 9331. We’ll review your information and discuss the available options.
Does the enquiry form put cover in place?
No. It asks our team to contact you. Cover must be arranged and confirmed, with the required details and payment arrangements completed, before you rely on it.
Can I ask about monthly payments?
Yes. Ask us about available payment arrangements and the total cost. Instalments on an annual policy are not the same as a monthly insurance policy. Finance is subject to eligibility and terms.
Managing your policy
Can I change the policy later?
Contact us before changing vehicles, drivers or vehicle use. Insurer acceptance, additional premiums and fees may apply. Check the change is confirmed before relying on cover.
What happens if I want to cancel?
Please contact us and confirm your request in writing. Any refund, fees and outstanding finance depend on the policy terms, time on cover and claims position.
When can I speak to the team?
Call 020 8374 9331, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We are based at 133 Tottenham Lane, Crouch End, London, N8 9BJ.
